Congresso Internacional de Geoturismo – AROUCA 2011 que terá lugar no Arouca Geopark, Portugal, entre 9 e 13 de Novembro de 2011.

O Geoturismo configura-se como um segmento emergente de Turismo, com notável expansão em todo o mundo. Este Congresso Internacional pretende assim ser uma oportunidade para se reflectir sobre as seguintes questões:
O que é o Geoturismo?
Como consciencializar as entidades locais, nacionais e internacionais para o Geoturismo?

The Global Geoparks Network Bureau admitted nine new members in seven countries during the 10th European Geoparks Conference, which took place in the Gea Norwegica Geopark (Norway) from 16 to 18 September. The Global Network of National Geoparks, created under the aegis of UNESCO in 2004, now numbers 87 Geoparks in 27 countries around the world.

BRAZILIAN SYMPOSIUM ON GEOLOGICAL HERITAGE is an event that is of great importance in defining the course of geological research in the country. The European Geoparks Week, taking place at late May early June each year, is a European - wide festival of Geoparks aimed at raising public awareness of geoconservation and promotion of the geological heritage as well as events aimed at informing the wide public about geotouristic and educational activities in geoparks.
Events are varied and include public talks, activity days for schools, guided walks, exhibitions, workshops ,etc.
